Penne Alfredo

Made penne alfredo today..turned out yummy :)

my plans to start dieting are again going down the drain! :O what to do!
can post the recipe..but what the hell! you can just google it there are plenty more..i just followed one of those.. :)

on the bright side: great taste.
on the flip side: lots of calories. bland for the indian masala teekha loving ppl ;)

Baking cookies

this is the simplest type of cookie and tastes yummy...so one could start with this one. So all ya ppl who are new to the delectable world of baking... why dont ya give this one a shot.
Now..a word of caution...baking is an art indeed...it is different when you read/watch on TV about some baking recipe and different when you actually come down to cooking it.

baking cakes and cookies require a lot of experience...it is a game of measurements and temperature.

my little ( and i mean little) experience with cakes came a bit handy while baking these cookies...

here s the recipe...
1 cup refined flour
1 cup regular atta (one u use to make chapatis)
1 cup icing sugar
1 cup shortening
1 pinch salt
1/2 tea spoon vanilla essence
almonds chopped

i have used atta because refined flourt isnt too good for health. i prefer not to use it. or use lesser quantities. this one is eggless also. with no egg substitutes either.
beat the shortening well. one by one add flour ( mix both refined flour and atta) and icing sugar and keep folding them. This one requires patience. also add vanilla essence and salt pinch to it.
Rest is easy... add almonds.
Make into small balls and put them on a tray that is lined with foil. grease the foil first.
bake them at 125 degree C for 10 min or until golden. take them out and let them cool. store them. Or better gobble them up!!
Munch much munch!! yumm!!
